We are happy to announce that the Symposium on Coins, Seals and Weights from the Port Cities of Aegean World will be organized on 01-02 November 2017 in İzmir and Mania. Organized by the Archaeology Department of the Faculty of Letters of Dokuz Eylül University, the Department of Art History of the Faculty of Science and Letters of Manisa Celal Bayar University and the Ancient City of Smyrna Excavations, the symposium welcomes all scholars and specialists interested in the subject.

The focus of the symposium will be on the circulated coins, seals and weights found during excavations as well as seals, weights and coins minted at Port Cities of the Aegean World.
Symposium covers a timeframe beginning with the antiquity to the end of the Ottoman Empire reign in the area.
*Abstracts should be 250 words maximum, in English (and if possible Turkish)
*Abstracts should include title, name(s) of author(s), institution, author(s) email address(es) and 5 keywords. *Abstract should fully illustrate the subject with special emphasis on the purpose and conclusion of the study. *Abstracts should be sent to email@example.com by 01.04.2017 at the latest.
Accepted proposals will be communicated to all parties by 15.06.2017 and will be posted on www.antiksmyrna.com.
The languages of the symposium are Turkish and English. Each talk is limited to 20 minutes. Symposium will be organized on 1-2 November in İzmir and Manisa; venue will be announced at a later date.
There is no participation fee for the symposium. Authors should organize their own transportation and accommodation. Accepted papers will be printed in a proceedings book and are subject to the evaluation of the scientific committee.
