These grants are competitive, not guaranteed. The average award is $500. Funding comes from the Samuel H. Kress Foundation and the RSA General Fund. The RSA will also offer diversity grants, of $500 each, to provide financial assistance for minority scholars (African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, and other traditionally underrepresented groups), residing in the US or Canada, to attend the conference. International scholars from historically underrepresented minorities residing in the US or Canada are also eligible to apply. The application period for both types of RSA travel grants will begin in November 2018, after conference acceptance decisions have been sent to applicants.
